Cleaning for shopping centres in Amsterdam
In a shopping centre, people walk in and out all day, with wet coats, shopping bags and pushchairs. The communal areas have to keep up. Smartcleaners provides cleaning for shopping centres in and around Amsterdam, in consultation with management and with regular teams that know the centre.

For managers and owners
This service is for managers and owners of shopping centres who want the communal areas cleaned. It covers the spaces that don’t belong to any one shop: arcades, corridors, entrances and toilet blocks. Individual shops are usually not included.
A day in the centre
What a day looks like depends on the agreements with management. Work often starts before the shops open. Floors in arcades and entrances are cleaned, bins emptied and toilet blocks thoroughly cleaned, so that everything is ready for the first visitors.
During opening hours it’s all about keeping up. At peak times we make extra rounds of the toilet blocks and entrances: picking up dirt from outside, checking sanitary facilities, clearing up spilled drinks. This is done as unobtrusively as possible, with a warning sign where the floor is wet. A round at the end of the day gets the areas back in order for the next morning. We choose products and methods to suit the surface and use. We work in line with VCA and the Dutch Working Conditions Act.
Frequency, peaks and events
How often we’re there depends on opening hours, how busy it is and the agreements with management. One centre needs daily cleaning with extra rounds on busy days; another can manage with periodic cleaning. For events, public holidays or a promotional week, we plan extra capacity in consultation with management. Because the same team keeps coming back, they know where things go wrong after a rainy day or a busy Saturday.
Service area: Amsterdam and surroundings
Our service area is Amsterdam and the surrounding region. That can be a neighbourhood shopping centre in Noord, Oost or Nieuw-West, a shopping area in Zuid or closer to the centre, or a centre in Amstelveen or Diemen.
